What's Bernd blaying these days?
>>1848 ...although, to be fair, the Poccners get a boatload of prototype units which can go toe to toe with the good burger stuff. Apmatas, Bumerangs, Barbarises, SU-57s etc etc.
I'm currently addicted to Atlyss, it's furshit but also a very nostalgic, PS1 style RPG. And it's quite focused on online co-op which is fun too.
I wish I could play bang-on balls chronicles, but my computer is not built for that.
Started a new run of Factorio.
Played KCD but the DLC kept crashing my PC so then I played Stalker 2 and then I played Dying Light The Following DLC.
>>1911 >Stalker 2 What did you think of it?

>>1916 Well when I played SoC I played Kyuzos Oblivion Lost modpack which is not the same as Oblivion Lost Remake, it just restores stuff cut from SoC, adds guns, better A-life, combat AI and factions fighting for locations. When I played CoP I played Misery, so my comparison is not with the vanilla games. Stalker 2: Great world & map, looks and feels like a modern Stalker game, still plays mostly the same which is very pleasant for me as a lover of Stalker. Guns and combat feel pretty good except the combat AI is considerably less advanced and deadly and makes up for it with nade spamming, and the way the guns progress is fucked. Instead of damage and armour piercing being a calibre & ammo type situation, there's a new stat called penetration. Where you could previously clock the game with Streloks rapid AK and AP rounds, now at a certain point in the game when a sad event happens you need to start adopting sniper rifles or modern assault rifles. Even a 7.62 LMG becomes less effective. The atmosphere and tense uneasy feeling is still there, I feel the sound engineering is not quite as good as the old games but still good. A-life has apparently been fixed but I clocked the game before that happened , so whereas in Misery I'd be taking my time, scouting with binoculars and planning my movements ahead of time, it wasn't possible for me in Stalker 2, everything would spawn on me within a radius which sucked in comparison to proper A life. I will be playing it again but I'm a big Stalker fan.
>>1970 Noice. Those were my same thoughts after playing it and I stopped playing before the recent big patches and updates to the game. I really want to dive back in but got to wait for the temperatures to drop lower.
I want a Brytenwalda mod for Bannerlord already. Bannerlord disappointed me.
Been playing Titan Quest and just recently got all the Crysis games. Have to say Crysis 1 is kind of boring.
Don't let her die lads, I'm back
Nothing since I finished KCD, I'm waiting for the next update for Manor Lords which will bring custom stone castles.
Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal. I'm playing WAY too much of it. Also Bernd wants to look into one of the native Linux builds of Command & Conquer: Generals now that EA has released the source code.
Mostly been playing modded Bannerlord as a Battanian, going for a King Arthur-meets-Charlemagne type leader. >>3859 I'm actually working (slowly) on a fantasy mod for Bonerlord.

There's a pretty good Samurai mod for Bannerlord that recently released. Hopefully there will be more mods developed by dedicated autists in the future - I don't care much for the default scenario.
>>5369 One of the few good games of this shitty decade
>>5842 Any recommendations for mods? The game feels so empty for me
>>5860 There aren't many so far that I'm aware of There's the Old Realms, which is Warhammer Fantasy; Shokuho mod, which is Gekokujo but in Bannerlord; one mod that takes place in 800's England, but I forget the name; and several fantasy mods, like the Land of Sika. There are several useful mods for vanilla like a mod that adds stuff from Warband like feasts, bandits, and the old casualty log; Banner Kings, which changes the economy and makes it more realistic (but that's been pretty buggy for me); and a far more complex banner creation system. It's
Victoria 3 Workers and Resources Soviet Republic HOI4 GTA SA (original not defective edition, modded)

Just 100%ed with GF >>5044 Had to uninstall couldn't stop and somehow felt more than usual like throwing my life away
>>6019 How casual-friendly is it? I started appreciating stuff like quest markers or logs since working full time.
>>6021 You must keep external notes, it's part of the game. It's not too onerous, you can use a notebook or an alt-tabbed text file or whatever. There are 2 levels to the game. The first (roguelike puzzle game) is very fun and is sufficiently casual-friendly. Most players will stop here and still have greatly valued their experience with it. To actually complete the rest of it with no spoilers is very challenging.
>>6025 >you can use a notebook or an alt-tabbed text file or whatever. My play pattern recently had evolved to playing for 1-2 hours and then not playing for a week or so. Do you think this is a game that works like this, or will I spend an hour reading my notes before doing anything meaningful? Also, how did you involve gf? Couch co-op, remote screen sharing or something different?
>>6029 I suspect it can be played somewhat like that without too much trouble, though if you really like it then "1-2 hours then not for a week" will be painful, and some sessions will unexpectedly stretch beyond what you were anticipating and you won't be able to walk away (no mid-run saves). Maintain a loosely-priority-sorted TODO to jog your memory. Knowledge gains consolidate somewhat regularly, and almost everything that you encounter early you will encounter often. You can pursue many things at a time and there is some redundancy, though if you want to finish the full-on 100-hour post-normie-endgame you cannot lose track of some things or you will end up quite stuck. Couch co-op. If you're lucky you can have her take the notes. Often helps to have a second set of eyes.
>>6029 >>6056 To be clear, "couch co-op" here is you operating the controls and her sitting next to you. But you are playing together because the game is not in operating the controls.
>>6057 Yeah, that's the kind of co-op I was imagining. I we have recently finished Agent A like that. Blue Prince seems like a nice successor for us even though it's a bit more expensive. I'll consider buying it the next time she visits me and we're in the mood for video games.

>>6059 Obra Dinn should be at the top of your list for playing in that manner. All-time experience. Though much much shorter (maybe a benefit in your case)
>>6060 Though it probably needs to be played in one big chunk for full experience. Over 2-3 days at most. 10ish hours total.
>>6060 I respect the artists' choice, but the Moliere effect/aliasing is pissing me off in the video already. I don't think I can look at this for 10 hours. The gameplay seems nice though.
>>6062 I thought the same thing but it was fine
>>6062 (note it looks worse in videos due to compression)

Baba is You. It's a puzzle game made by a finnish programmer. Currently stuck on pic related. >>6060 Obra Dinn is an amazing game. The once in a lifetime experience. Haven't played the Case of the Golden Idol yet but that's next on my list after Baba is You. Most kino moment in the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GadL-6wpp3U
The Guild 1410 was announced. Maybe after 2 shit sequels they finally manage to recapture the magic of The Guild/Die Fugger, but I won't hold my breath.
I am in a Medieval 2 Total War mood. I like TW but none of them compare to Medieval 2, the settlement management system is maximum cosiness.

>>7011 Lack of autistic stuff like visual armour progression if you construct certain tech buildings is why I don't like Nu-TW. I think Shogun 2 is the last entry I sometimes replay.
>>7014 What did you make of Rome 2? I found it fun making a celtic federation and taking over parts of europe but the lack of pictures and descriptions for buildings and units annoyed me, just some historical wikipedia tier description. Also trade was yugely better in medieval 2.

>>7015 Only played one Roman campaign and a Saxon one in Attila, magic was largely gone imo.
>>7011 Medieval 1 had the best empire building of the series. Endless building castles while forcing your princesses to commit incest so you can see how many genetic diseases your heirs can collect.
Please speak up with suggestions for recent autism games. Must be mostly cleanly discrete (as in vs continuous), and turn-based or slow. Hard mode: with low or strictly-gradual learning curve, ie no Paradox (which are also mostly continuous) Historical core examples: Slay the Spire, FTL, Civ V, Factorio, Minecraft

I finished Pentiment, put it off for a long time. Mixed feelings, on one hand setting a game in the Peasant Wars is so wonderfully specific and it's clear that it was a passion project of Sawyer. Sadly both the RPG mechanics and the murder mystery plot were sort of lacklustre and I didn't care at all for the new protagonist in the second half. But it's nice that they wrote dialogue where people don't swear all the time, was a major irk for me in KCD where they made the dialogue too Game of Thrones/Witcher like.

>>7699 Pentiment was such a letdown. It started off great but then quickly after the first act turned worse. Mainly, the choices we make, the character dialogues and the traits we select, don't make much of a difference. The dialogues are also weak and basic. Expected something more from a game that is centered around story telling. Also, I'm not a poltard by any means but the narrative not missing a chance to talk about women's place in society, rape, Turing vollständigs, black monks in the middle of fucking nowhere, jewish people, gypsies and so on, is too much. It's exaggerated to the point of it being comical. The historical accuracy is perhaps close to 20%. Probably less but I stopped caring early on. The art and OST is well done. The idea was neat. It's a shame that they couldn't get better writers and historians on the team. Now the game I recently finished is Mundaun. It's a game with a setting in Switzerland and the VA is in Romansh. It was interesting being able to understand a lot of it due to knowing italian. The game is a walking sim with light puzzle and horror elements. It's the great atmosphere that pulled me in. I just liked walking around and exploring in the limited area. The story is cliche but it's executed well. Currently play testing Militsioner and really like the game, the atmosphere in particular is comfy and the idea itself is rather unique.
>>7706 The secretly fag monks and the Jews were plausible enough (they were involved in the printing business), the gypsy and Ethiopian did reek of forced DEI though.
>>7707 >the Jews were plausible enough (they were involved in the printing business) Correct but them being friends and guests with the Druckers was also as historically inaccurate as possible. My problem was not that there were jews in the game, it's the way the relationship with them was handled like with other characters. You can suspend belief here and there but Pentiment kept posing such silly premises that it stops being immersive. At least for me. >The secretly fag monks Yeah. That wasn't a problem for me but it did add to the overall inclusive narrative the game has going. I wish they kept it more realistic is all.
>>7718 It's an unfortunate reality that modern writers of historical media can only implement diversity in a heavy-handed way. Like, it always has to be niggers, it can't be, say, a guest from Novgorod, a Turkish diplomat or whatever. Instead of showcasing historical trades women dominated like brewing or textile making, they just write them to be sarcastic and snarky, it's superficial and stupid. Games usually have at least _somewhat_ authentic art direction/costumes which is why I can enjoy them, unlike TV show slop.
