>>16160 Scrambled Eggs in the microwave. 1-2 Eggs takes like 2-4 Minutes, depending on your microwave.
>has grill function / oven from the top I use it for roasting (or is it baking?) frozen lasagna or pizza - gives it that crisp in the usual mode I mostly have melted cheese butterbrodts or just for heating yesterday's leftovers
Luving me sum freshly microwaved popcorn lately.
I've been thinking about preparing a chunk of meat in a microwave just to see what happens. People always disrespect microwaves but I've basically only ever done leftovers and microwave meals with it. A lot of people love their microwave potatoes. Not my thing but I'd imagine anything that you can steam you can also microwave.
The only thing I mainly use it for these days is making porridge in the morning. Before I used to heat up leftovers with it regularly when I made larger amounts of food but I stopped doing that when possible and cook only what I eat for the day because freshly cooked food is much better than 1-3 days old microwaved stuff. Soups and stews I make a bigger pot and then just reheat what I eat in a smaller pot on the stove.
>>16178 Wherever the microwaves microwaves hit the meat, the water molecules inside will start to vibrate which generates heat and leaves your meat boiled from the inside, just the way you wouldn't want your meat prepared if you intend to make it taste good for consumption.
Go to the store and buy some microwave rice and some ready to eat chicken and microwave them together. Buy some vegetables to eat on the side. Add sauces to taste.
>>16182 What about pulled pork and other slow cooked meat? Maybe microwave is ideal for that. I'm not a big fan of raw meat to begin with. Seems to me like a restaurant scam to prepare food asap for the goyim.
It's great for (re)heating milk or coffee. Or porridge like >>16179. >>16178 I do that as part of steak preparation (reverse sear). Instead of heating it up in the oven for 10 minutes, I just give it 10-20 seconds in the microwave and then it goes into the pan. Takes 10 minutes out of the process at no quality cost.
I use it to make hot Milos and to reheat food.
>>16186 That's already nicely cooked and browned. Raw meat you'd essentially reheat until it's done.

>>16189 what about stew meat?
>>16160 Check the user manual, there's usually some broad recommendations on the use of its functions. But this whole microwave cooking and pretending like it's a valid replacement for a stove and an oven really didn't survive past like the 90s. I think my grandma had a cooking book specifically for microwaves back then. Don't remember her ever using it, lol.
>>16192 Stews count on a slow cooking process over many hours, not nuking water molecules with 1.21GHz for a few seconds.
>>16192 stew is supposed to stew also it smells delicious while stewing so I don't get why you'd microwave it
>>16212 Funny how food from microwaves smells totally off sometimes when you reheat while other times it's just the way it should be, like with popcorn.

>>16211 >>16212 my very basic microwave has a timer up to 30 minutes and you can set the power lower. No one prevents me from resetting the timer to make it cook it even longer

>>16216 I can only imagine what kind of a substance you would end up with after microwaving anything for 30+ minutes.
>>16214 >smells totally off sometimes Can't say that ever happened to me
>>16217 it's called the microwave oven. It was supposed to work that way when it was invented. there were restaurants specialized in microwave dishes when it was a new and expensive cutting-edge technology. only later people realized it's more convenient for heating up leftovers than as an oven replacement.
>>16219 It's not really about convenience. The microwave is just very bad for cooking most things, which people didn't know yet when it was first invented. It's even bad for reheating most foods.
>>16162 Eggs are perfect for the microwave. They cook very quickly and come out good. Pretty much all other food comes out mushy, unevenly cooked, and wrong but eggs are liquid throughout so they come out nice and even. >>16162 1-2 Eggs here take 1-2 minutes. Not sure why yours take twice as long.

Burrito à la Yves.
>>16216 Do it. And post results.
>>16178 As others have said. Meat is not considered microwave safe and not advised to be cooked in a microwave. The reason is microwaves send out waves (light light waves) to cause water particles to vibrate and heat your food. However... If your food isn't consistently liquid, it will cause it to heat unevenly, with the wet parts getting very hot very quickly and the dry parts staying cool/frozen. This is why you don't cook meat in the microwave. Not only is meat a mix of water and carbon, but it needs to be cooked thoroughly... Microwaves simply can't cook it even enough to get the job done, the meat will have to be overcooked or parts will come out still raw. Microwaves are perfect for cooking eggs or heating up soup though.
>>16220 > It's even bad for reheating most foods well, that's not true
>>16178 >done leftovers and microwave meals with it It is literally the "Make leftovers great again"-Machine.
>>16225 Well at least you can steam it in the microwave. Like a frozen chicken, put a little water on the plate and cover it, then like 10 minutes in the microwave it comes out evenly steamed. Works with potatoes too. 10 minutes steaming in the microwave.
>>16222 >1-2 Eggs here take 1-2 minutes. Not sure why yours take twice as long Bernd does scrambled eggs with additiona like tuna, onion or avocado. So it takes longer.
>>16224 Yes, I will, eventually, but don't expect results because I'm too lazy to do it right now. I've been planning this event for years.
>>16238 I want to see a picture of the microwaved slab o' meat and a written resume on the taste pls :3
>>16225 > to cause water particles to vibrate and heat your food wait until you hear about regular heat transmission (particles vibrate, causing other particles to vibrate)
>>16254 If two particles touch that have been vibrating with the same frequency but in the opposite direction shouldn't they cool down?
>>16255 If your food consists of only 2 particles, then this could be a concern.
>>16256 Completely inelastic collision of two molecules in a microwave? Maybe this is the way to poly-water, just have to try hard enough
>>16178 Meat explodes in the microwave.

Can't wait to vibrate some groin meat by friction when I get off work today.
