The key is to identify your bad habits and replace them with less bad ones. Not doing something is not an option, but you can do something different. When you have managed to do something different for 2 months the new objective is to not forget why you stopped doing the bad thing, be it smoking, drinking, gambling, porn.
I used to do that well into my 20's out of habit because I was scared of the dark as a kid. Then one day I just kinda noticed that I sleep better without it.
If I hear any kind of talking of any kind my brain fixates on it and I absolutely cannot sleep until it stops
