No, too expensive, depreciates too fast + too much work

Yes, a very cute one that has cost me more in repairs than I paid to get it.
>>28197 Currently tryint to factcheck this: I wonder which article this supposed quote is from: https://www.nytimes.com/sitemap/1903/12/08/
>>28199 many such cases
>>28197 Okay, I found the original article. The date in the screenshot is wrong. It's actually from October 9, 1903. The NYT wrote back then: >Hence, if it requires, say, a thousand years to fit for easy flight a bird which started with rudimentary wings, or ten thousand for one which started with no wings at all and had to sprout them ab initio, it might be assumed that the flying machine which will really fly might be evolved by the combined and continuous efforts of mathematicians and mechanicians in from one million to ten million years-provided, of course, we can meanwhile eliminate such little drawbacks and embarrassments as the existing relation between weight and strength in inorganic materials. https://archive.ph/hxfsa
No, I own a bicycle for anything under 10km and a general public transport subscription for anything over or bad weather.
No. I am too much of a pussy for it. Every year 1 million people die in car accidents. I rather ride my bike.
>>28209 >No, I own a bicycle for anything under 10km Just walk bro. >>28210 Riding a bike in a big city is much more dangerous than driving a car.
I have a Grand Siena 2014 1.4.
>>28213 I live on the countryside so no problem.
>>28209 I would love to do that too, but my workplace has bad connection with public transport. At least groceries I can do by foot with my trusty rucksack.
Yes. My main hobbies outside are hiking and mountainbiking and I need my car to get to many different places to do that. Before I had my own car I regularly did car sharing and before that I rarely left my apartment.
>>28222 >I regularly did car sharing Same, I did that until I had an accident with such a car, then rarely again. It's just so fucking expensive and the rental companies are greedy fucks.
>>28222 Why don't you just cycle to the places you want to cycle?
>>28224 I also ask myself that question when I see cyclists in trains taking up all the space. Why don't they just ride their bikes to where they wanna go?
>>28225 Ohhhh so you're a commuter? Sorry, I missed that. Very well, carry on.
>>28229 I'm another German. Just wanted to add my two cents, because I have similar concerns.
>>28223 I used to live in a place where basically whenever I wanted I could get a car sharing car within a 5 minutes walk. It was very cool to drive all kinds of different cars and way cheaper than owning one. Then I moved somewhere with no good car sharing places in the vicinity and got my own one. Since I have it I love it and do everything with my car. >>28224 My mountainbiking consists of driving to a mountain with my car. Riding the bike up the hill. Then driving down a mountainbike trail. Then I repeat that until I'm exhausted and fed up with it. If I would cycle there I would be exhausted before even going up the hill. Also in order for that to not get boring you have to always go to a different trail on a different mountain. Most are not within cycling distance of my place.
An about 15 years old VW Eos. It's got leather upholstery, a hardtop convertible roof, and an 140 hp diesel engine that allows me to travel about 100 km with five liters of diesel (range 1000-1100 km with one tank). It's okay.
>>28207 okay but contentwise it's essentially the same as in the image, ie. denial about the possibility of flying machines + the implicit claim that heavier-than-air flying objects are impossible
No I live in central London so I might as well buy myself a chocolate teapot. I'm currently learning to drive though as I know my time living in London is running out if I ever want to have a family.
>>28246 WOW, two EOS owners in one thread with the same engine. BJ 2013 with 293000 km and my record while commuting was 4,2 l/100km.
>>28254 Lowest that I got was 4.5, that was a lot of Autobahn at 110-120 km/h. Mine is IIRC a little under 200.000 km.
>>28253 Getting a loicense in London must be hell. t. Berlin driver
>>28260 >>28254 Drove a Fronch convertible for some time until it's peaceful end being cannibalized for parts by bidders and it's still a fond memory. Hold on to these times and don't forget to take some nice pictures for the family album, Bernds!
>>28263 I'm actually learning outside of London at the moment for this very reason. No point in me sitting in traffic for half the lesson and getting constant aggro from aggressive city drivers. The only catch is that I'm doing it intensively for a few weeks which means staying with my parents for longer than anyone would like with my holiday time.

4, one work pick up, one SUV ( I think) my dad gave me, wife's car and one small pick up, really a car with bed, that doesn't use much gas, from oldest to newest. I wish I lived in a city where you only need one car sometimes
Yes. I have a Mitsubishi Lancer.
>>28285 >I suffer owning four cars cargarch
>>28213 I hate walking. It's so slow and boring. With cycling, the landscape passes at a more reasonable pace.
No, but I have driven more kilometers on rental cars than a normal person ever drives with their car.
>>28320 What did you do?
Yes. Only way to get to work. No public transit in the suburbs.
>>28298 Well I'm not a car guy and it's more of necessity. I'd rather a single fancy one. But I didn't say I suffer
>>28317 Good car. Approved
I haven't had a car in almost a decade

>>28317 *faint eurobeating in the distance* Nice!
No, and I'm 36. Is it over for me? Never drove in my whole life.
I only have a bicycle, not even electric.
