es Bernd 2025-12-04 23:08:53 No. 28323
Everybody who talks highly of Germans has never been to Germany for a significant amount of time. I lived there for a decade and have come to hate it like not many other places. It's always been rotten to the core, they only managed to cover it up with unstitainable economic success for a short while.
I've really enjoyed Germany every time I have been. It's orderly and the food is very nice for my English sensibilities.
>>28331 > It's orderly That's exactly one of the delusions nobody who has been there long enough would state.
>>28338 Its orderly to the extent that nothing gets done because there are too many rules to follow
>>28343 Nothing gets done because "the rules" are just a pretext for hiding all the arbitrariness.
i have such a severe case of brown fatigue that i just assume this is some brown reason to hate germany yet again and it applies to finland as well. sure white countries are decaying shitholes ruled by spineless commies. you should've known better before you came and i bet leeching welfare was your dream job anyway.
I had to teach a German paver how to calculate area once, I also had to teach him how to count stacks of pavers. What an idiot...
>>28323 Okay crybaby.
What is Bernd about Germany, OP?
In my opinion, and maybe because I have a tendency to relativize evil, I loved Germany every time that I was there. I'm really not joking, while for example walking in Leipzig, I couldn't stop thinking "this society is fucking sexy", without being able to use any other word for it. While in Berlin, in the square of the museums near Brandenburg gate, I couldn't stop thinking how massive, neoclassical and epical everything around me was, and that this is what a fucking industrialized power looks like. Everything is fucking solid and massive. Someone can live all his life living in a third world shithole that only exports agriculture commodities, without knowing this sensation of being in a literal industrial first world country. In Germany I also notice some kind of bluntness, straightfowardness and down to the facts attitude that I think it very much fits me. Am I wrong in my impressions?
>for a significant amount of time The difference between Germany 30 years ago and Germany now is really big. Even 10 years ago things were a lot better. Things are accelerating towards rock bottom rapidly.
>>28385 German temperament is real. You might feel an affinity for it because there were a lot of successful German Jews in history. einstein, marx, freud, etc. they were German as much as anyone else
>>28385 >this society is fucking sexy Lol
>>28345 I don't know, where you have been, but I can't complain about a lack of Ordnung in Germany. t.countryside Bernd
>>28389 Just extrapolate base points in the past into the future and I'm glad that my timeframe of staying here is less then 5 years now.
I've been to Germany and it seemed alright. It might also be socially warmer compared to Norway where I'm socially isolated. Frankfurt was degenerate though.
>>28524 >Frankfurt was degenerate though. No, it is sexy. Especially the Bahnhof area.
>>28513 here as in austria or here as in on earth?
> rotten to the core Eh and whenever I take a serious look at anywhere else I see it's worse most of the time. When has Spain last passed a national budget?
>>28530 Spain makes up for its rottenness through the weather, food and outdoors. I went hiking under a cloudless sky at 20 degrees Celsius today and later I'll jump in the sea and buy fresh fish. It's easy to floss over other things if one doesn't have to sit indoors looking at the darkness outside and pay for heating half of the year.
I wish I could sit indoors in the cold for half of the year...
>>28529 Here in this geriatric shithole Austria. Luckily we're a little better off then Germany, but in the end once I get to choose, I rather slack off in Asia then being a serf to generate pension revenue.
>>28509 Am I mentally ill for thinking that? The design of the space in Germany is simply sexy. These drinking shops where you can find 20 types of sparkling water. These towns where from the train station you then get to a square and an opera house.
>>28598 But none of the things you mention are related to the society
>>28598 >The design of the space in Germany is simply sexy. Aka Raumplanung. It's especially well done in older parts of Berlin IMO, very roomy and green. But it's pretty good even in the rest of Germany, if you compare it internationally. I have noticed such things in some other countries. For example, in Wallonia (French-speaking Belgium), there are parts where you can drive 20 km without getting out of low-density villages. It looks ugly and it makes it quite annoying to get around. The situation is much better right over the border in the Netherlands. In some ways better than in Germany and everything is super clean and neat - but less roomy, well, high population density.
>>28596 I got to fuck off as well. Timeframe is even shorter, I'd say 10-16 months.
