I think smiling makes every person more beautiful. Does Bernd smile while showing teeth or is your mouth closed?
What do I have to smile about?
I tend to keep it closed because I try to hide that I need a tooth replaced. But I agree, I love people's smiles.
I keep it closed but I should open it as I have nice teeth.
both but mostly closed
Showing one's teeth is a threatening gesture t. talking ape
>>6333 True, quite strange how humans are the only species that shows joy this way.
>>6334 i don't think it's natural to smile showing your teeth the eternal anglo just decided that at some point that that is how you are supposed to pose for photographs
>>6335 Yeah, very much an American thing. Serious expression or just the bare hint of a smile was the ideal for portraiture and photography throughout the ages. I only show teeth when I'm actually laughing.
>>6335 I disagree, showing teeth feels more natural when you put on a big smile, I always notice that when I smile with my mouth closed. It always feels very unnatural.
>>6337 Maybe it's just what you used to? I think I smile with my teeth most of the time, but Americans' smiles seem "too toothy" for me. If someone tells me I have food between my teeth and I cannot fix it immediately, I find smiling without my teeth very unnatural.
>>6341 It’s just the face muscles will hurt eventually if you don’t open your mouth and relax them
A peculiarity from German Gothic art, the "Cologne Smile". Usually saints and martyrs were depicted with serious expression around this time, but someone apparently thought that cheerful serenity in the face of martyrdom would be interesting. It quickly caught on.
Teeth closed because my bottom row is a bit fucked. But I'm getting Invisalign now, so next year I will have the burger smile.
>>6347 What’s the difference between normal braces and Invisalign?
>>6357 Transparent plastic aligners that clip to your teeth and don't immediately stand out. And I travel a lot, so there are times when I can't make it to the regular readjustments required for normal braces. With Invisalign I just take a couple of pre-printed ones with me and swap them according to the plan. Downside is, it's not covered by insurance, but not nearly as bad as a full replacement murica style.
I don't like my teeth.
>>6285 Don't smile because it's over. Cry because it happened.
